San Juan - More than just a place to catch a cruise

San Juan is a bit of a contradiction. Is it part of the US? I guess. Does it feel like the US? Not really, other than in Best Buy or the big mall.

San Juan has a rich culture dating back hundreds of years. The site of historic battles, it has a remarkably resilient people. Recent hurricanes badly damaged the island, and not all of the damage has been repaired. Yet, the people still move forward.

When I go on vacation, I like to feel I am on vacation as soon as I leave the house, not just once I reach my final destination. Well, if San Juan is where you catch your cruise ship, rest assured, you adventure begins as soon as you arrive.

San Juan is a destination in its own right, not just a departure port. Enjoy Old San Juan!
